The gaps in the bed frame should not exceed 5 cm or be less than 2.5 cm.
The diameter of the springs is generally around 5 cm. If the gap between the slats is smaller than this value, every pocketed spring on the mattress will be adequately supported; otherwise, some springs would end up completely unsupported and thus ineffective. Only when the gap between the bed slats is less than 2.5 cm can we ensure that each spring is either fully supported at its center or supported simultaneously on both sides—eliminating any instances of partial support altogether.
Typically, a layer of foam is glued onto the mattress base to ensure that each pocket spring receives even pressure distribution, providing a more comfortable feel during use. The rest of the manufacturing process is similar to that of conventional spring mattresses. What sets this type apart is that each spring operates independently, offering individual support and allowing for independent compression and extension. Each spring is encased in a fiber bag, a non-woven fabric bag, or a cotton bag, and the spring bags from different rows are then bonded together using adhesive. Moreover, an advanced continuous, seamless longitudinal spring technology enables a single mattress to deliver the same comfort and support as two separate mattresses.
